Revd Richard Coles to present British Parking Awards
Popstar turned priest, the Revd Richard Coles hosted the British Parking Awards 2013. One of Britain's best loved broadcasters, he is best known for having been one-half of the 1980s band The Communards. They enjoyed three UK Top 10 hits, including the biggest-selling single of 1986, Don't Leave Me This Way.
In parallel to building a successful media career, Richard trained for a priesthood in the Church of England, becoming what could only be described as a 'very modern' vicar.
Richard hosts Radio 4's Saturday Live programme. He has featured as a panellist on QI, Have I Got News For You and Newsnight Review. And he also makes time for the odd Songs of Praise special.
The British Parking Awards are revealed at a gala lunch held in leading London venues.
These sell-out events are compered by celebrity hosts. The British Parking Awards 2011 were hosted by Hugh Dennis, star of the BBC sitcom Outnumbered and star of Mock the Week. Previous events have been presented by Richard Hammond, Jon Culshaw, Adrian Chiles, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Meera Syal and John Sergeant.
This year's awards were hosted by actor and comedian: Alexander Armstrong
