Reinventing the Car Park: The Refurbishment Award Entry Criteria
This year the Best Refurbishment category has been enhanced to recognize projects which not only renovate but truly transform car parks. Such projects will be ones which will create more than clean, bright, well signed, safe and structurally sound facilities. The judges will be looking for renovations and re-designs which create attractive, vibrant and aesthetically striking gateways to destinations such as town centres, airports, rail stations, retail developments and leisure facilities. To qualify the project must have been completed after 1 July 2009.

The award is open to local authorities, private operators and key contractors, working separately or together to produce an outstanding refurbishment of an existing parking facility. Refurbished car parks may be multi-storey, underground or surface, or a mixture. Entries in this category will also be eligible for consideration in the APCOA Living Streets Award.

The objectives of the refurbishment
The extent to which these objectives have been met
